Local management through the Console port

How can I connect to the device by console?

Introduction

The Console port is used to establish a management session with the unit to configure its features and parameter settings. The unit does not need an Internet Protocol (IP) address for local management sessions because they are not conducted over a network.

Local management

To perform local management, you must be at the location of the unit and must use the management cable included with the unit.

Most computers require an adapter to convert the DB-9 serial port to USB

To establish a local management session with the unit, connect the computer with a terminal emulation program (e.g. Putty, TeraTerm, etc.) to the Console port, which has an RJ-45 style (8P8C) connector, using the provided management cable.
You can download te terminal emulator for free on their webpage.
