What is the cabling configuration of the stacking ports on an 8100S series switch?
The cabling configuration of the stacking ports on an 8100S series switch is a ring topology configuration.
The 8100S series switch has two stacking ports, S1 and S2. In order for stacking to work on an 8100S series switch, the HDMI cables must be cabled in a ring topology configuration instead of a straight topology configuration.
Examples:
Stack of 2 8100S series switches Switch 1, Stack Port 1 (S1) -> Switch 2, Stack Port 2 (S2) Switch 1, Stack Port 2 (S2) -> Switch 2, Stack Port 1 (S1)
Stack of 3 8100S series switches Switch 1, Stack Port 1 (S1) -> Switch 2, Stack Port 2 (S2) Switch 2, Stack Port 1 (S1) -> Switch 3, Stack Port 2 (S2) Switch 3, Stack Port 1 (S1) -> Switch 1, Stack Port 2 (S2)
