There are two ways to install this card.
A. Install using the latest Allied Telesis card assistant disk.

After physically installing the card and restarting into Windows 98 the Add New Hardware Wizard opens Microsoft Windows 98 detects the card as NE2000 Compatible

Select "Display a list of drivers in a specific loacation, so you can select the driver you want"

Select the Have Disk button
-
Type in A:\win95
-
Windows 98 detects the Allied Telesis AT-2000PNP Ethernet Adapter

Windows 98 locates the driver: netati20.inf
-
Asks for Win98 CD – copies files
-
Click Finish – and click on Yes to Restart

After Windows restarts Device Manger will show the 2000PnP as a

Allied Telesis AT-2000PNP Ethernet Adapter
B. Installing the driver that is included within Microsoft Windows 98
-
After physically installing the card and restarting into Windows 98 the Add New Hardware Wizard opens

Windows 98 detects the card as NE2000 Compatible

Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)"

Specify a location – select Browse
-
Windows 98 should located - c:\windows\inf
-
Select - The updated driver (Recommended)

Windows 98 locates NE2000 Compatible

Windows 98 Installs c:\windows\inf\netnovel.inf
-
Asks for Windows 98 CD
-
Select Finish and Yes to Restart

Device Manager lists as: NE 2000 Compatible
